Chatter PTT uses a RoIP gateway hardware product to connect smart devices, such as smart phones and tablets, into a two way radio network.
In this setup, each smart device connecting to the network requires a Chatter PTT License, as does the RoIP gateway.
When the RoIP gateway is connected, Chatter PTT can transmit calls from smart devices into the two way radio network and a two way radio can make calls back to the smart devices.
If a smart device user is on a mobile call when a two-way radio call is made, their current call will not be interrupted. The two-way radio call will be muted and they will be able to retrieve it as a voice message when they’re ready.
We suggest setting up an emergency user group for all users, to ensure emergency calls are prioritised.
